Furthermore, it should be grounded in historical research: please cite at least 3 primary sources in your answer, and analyze those sources for their utility and limitations. Rosenwein’s Reading the Middle Ages is expected to be the main place for you to find primary sources, but you may use others you encounter in your research as appropriate. You are welcome to use secondary sources (indeed, you are encouraged to think about how existing historical scholarship/historiography has shaped debates around these topics), but remember to look for peer-reviewed secondary sources.
If you are only going to be focusing on a particular region/time period, do make it clear which ruler, regions, and time periods you will be considering and explain why you made that choice.
