Part I:
Information Architecture Diagram (10-12 Minutes)
Create an information architecture diagram and provide a brief explanation for the purpose of each page.
If you are recreating the MirrorMirror example, take this time to come up with a different motivation for creating a diary based application than what I provided. Though the functions can be the same, please come up with your own reasoning for the application functions when you submit that section. I want you to demonstrate your understanding of other domains where a similar app could be useful.
If you are working on your individual prototype, the minimum number of screens has to be the same as the MirrorMirror example, but yours can be as complicated as you would like!
For Credit: Include a screenshot of this information architecture diagram in your final submission, as well as a brief description of what each page is meant to do.
Part II:
Application Prototype
Create a new Figma file.
Create a new empty frame of a phone for each screen of the app, and name each frame by the name of the screen. Do not add shapes to the frames yet.
After you created the three empty frames, create the menu:
On the bottom of the suggestion screen frame, add rectangle shapes, text, and icons that you download from a free icon repository (e.g., flaticon.com)
Connect the buttons to the appropriate screens:
Click Prototype at the top of the Properties Panel.
Click the shape you want to serve as a connection. A circle will appear on the right side of that shape.
Drag the circle to the screen that this shape links to.
Copy & paste the menu to the second page screen frame. In the example, this is a diary. This will also transfer the interactivity of the menu items.
On the activity screen, create the navigation buttons (Back, Save) and connect them to the appropriate screens.
Add shapes that represent UI elements to all the frames with the appropriate text and imagery.
Tips:
Focus on the functionality and interactivity of the application instead of the exact replication of the screens shown in the specification.
Copy & paste of an element also pastes its interactivity.
Entering text cannot be implemented with Figma.
Add visual imagery from your computer by dragging & dropping the file from the computer file system onto the Figma canvas.
Part III:
Check Your Work
Set the home screen of your prototype. This is indicated by a blue triangle icon on the top-left of one of the frames in the Canvas. This icon can be dragged from one screen to another.
Click the “Present” button in the top-right of the window.
Navigate between the screens, ensuring there are no unreachable screens and no deadend screens.
Go back to the Canvas editing view and make adjustments as necessary.
I will post my former prototype for you. And you shoud do this assignment based on this prototype.
