1. What main ideas and/or themes do you think the director of the film is trying to communicate to the audience? 2. Discuss the character traits, strategies, and/or relationships that enabled the Samsula farmers and the Tomazin family to be successful. Be sure to give specific evidence to support your ideas.
3. Imagine that you are planning to write a history, prepare a website, or film a documentary about a community (large or small) that you belong to. What are some themes you would you reveal or explore? What kinds of literature, primary sources, interviews, etc. would you use to create this piece? Be specific about the themes and the resources you will use for your project.
